The main entrance is not only the "qi mouth" of a house, but also a key hub for accumulating wealth and energy. A seemingly insignificant front door design often subtly influences the entire family's fortune. Let's analyze these common front door layouts in conjunction with Feng Shui principles: Figure 1 & 2: Elegant but Insufficient in Gathering Qi. These two front doors are very elegantly decorated, but the flaw is the presence of barrier stones placed along the roadside. From a practical perspective, this effectively prevents haphazardly parked vehicles; however, from a Feng Shui perspective, these stone balls act as invisible barriers, blocking not only vehicles but also the flow of wealth and energy in front of the house, preventing the smooth circulation of Qi into the home and creating a regrettable situation of "keeping wealth out." Figure 3: The Danger of No Steps, Hidden Taboo of a "Dead-Offspring Slope." Figure 3, like Figures 1 and 2, has no steps in front of the door. Even if the slope doesn't extend to a public road, this gentle or even slightly sloping layout can still easily form a "dead-end slope" or a "wealth-draining formation" in Feng Shui. Because the main entrance lacks steps as a "barrier," the earth's energy and wealth energy in the house will quietly flow away along the slope, making it difficult to accumulate in the "bright hall" in front of the door. Over time, this can easily lead to a decline in family fortune, with wealth coming and going in vain. Figure 4: Centrally Divided Steps, Violating the "Arrow Through the Heart" Pattern. Although Figure 4 has steps, the design is a central one with two branches. This layout is a major taboo in Feng Shui, known as "Arrow Through the Heart" or "Piercing Sword." The straight passage in the middle is like a sharp sword piercing the heart of the house, causing the airflow to rush in directly. This not only fails to retain and accumulate energy but also disrupts the magnetic field of the house, easily leading to health problems, increased gossip and disputes, and unstable wealth for family members. Figure 5: Five Steps, a Standard Wealth-Gathering Formation. Figure 5 is a model of a main entrance layout. A standard five-step staircase not only embodies the auspicious meaning of "rising step by step," but also perfectly aligns with the Feng Shui principle of "gathering and retaining auspicious energy." The staircase acts like a sturdy dam, effectively trapping the wealth energy (water energy) in front of the door and preventing it from leaking out. At the same time, the orderly staircase buffers the direct flow of external air, allowing auspicious energy to gently flow into the house. This layout is stable and dignified, truly the right choice for bringing prosperity to the home. In Feng Shui, even a slight error in the layout of the entrance can lead to disastrous consequences. Choosing the right layout is essential to attracting good fortune and ensuring a thriving family.
