The previous text stated that China needed the sexagenary cycle calendar because of the Yellow River. It then asked, "How did China invent the sexagenary cycle calendar? That's probably a taboo question." Why? The Heavenly Stems of the year follow the Venusian cycle, and the Earthly Branches follow the Jupiterian cycle. China's climate is the result of the overlap of these two cycles. If there were only one cycle, it would be easy to deduce from the observed phenomena. But in reality, two cycles overlap, the phenomena are sometimes clear and sometimes dim, and the cycles are so long. Even with hundreds of years of statistical data presented to you, do you have the mathematical mind to separate the two cycles to explain it? Even explaining the results to high-achieving high school science students is difficult. Without any tools, separating the two cycles from hundreds of years of statistical data is something that even if you found ten thousand science students today, very few could do. The *Huangdi Neijing* (Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic) was compiled by order of a Han Dynasty emperor, summoning renowned physicians from across the land; it wasn't a discussion between the Yellow Emperor and Qi Bo. However, it's unclear which emperor from the Western or Eastern Han Dynasty issued the order. The sexagenary cycle calendar may have already existed in the Shang Dynasty, since princes were named after the Heavenly Stems. So how was it developed in the Shang Dynasty, or even before? Unless the so-called "ancient times" are completely different from what we imagine, there were always a few people in "ancient times" who possessed advanced technologies, to a level that even today's top high school science students would find difficult to understand!
