The film tells the story of mathematician John Nash's journey to schizophrenia, showcasing typical symptoms of hallucinations and delusions. He developed the illness under immense pressure and loneliness, unable to distinguish between reality and fantasy, and at one point teetered on the brink of collapse. His wife's companionship and scientific treatment provided crucial support. Nash did not completely eliminate the hallucinations, but instead learned to rationally discern and coexist with the symptoms, ultimately returning to academia. This film helps us understand that mental illness is not insurmountable. Social support, self-acceptance, and rational cognition are key to psychological recovery, and it also allows us to better understand and respect those suffering from mental disorders.
