It was only when I was hospitalized alone that I realized health is more important than anything else, and relying on myself is worse than relying on anyone else. I'm most clear-headed when I'm sick; all the hustle and bustle is fake, only the physical discomfort is real. Taking good care of myself is the beginning of a lifelong romance. I learned that going to the doctor alone, getting an IV drip alone, and enduring it all alone isn't impossible. From now on, I need to cherish my life more, be more self-disciplined, and more independent. In the days when no one is there to take care of me, I understand that I am my most reliable support. I need to focus on recovery, live well, and not rely on or depend on anyone else. The hospital bed is the quietest place in the world; lying there, I've come to understand many things. Take care of myself first, and let everything else take its course. Am I lonely? A little. Am I scared? Somewhat. But after getting through it, I'll find myself stronger than I imagined. There's no such thing as true empathy in this world; only you know your own joys and sorrows. For the rest of my life, being good to myself is more important than anything else. Being hospitalized alone is growth, and also a form of self-cultivation. I've learned not to trouble others, and I've also learned to cherish myself.
